Introducing: Mile End Bakery

March 9, 2012

I swear, there’s a reason I’ve been so bad about posting these last few months- and it actually has to do with me being very busy in the kitchen. You see, in January, I started an online bakery with my friend and now business partner, Anya, of Another GF Blog! We have been working really hard to get everything ramped up the last few months, and I’m very excited to announce that Mile End Bakery is now a real, live store on Etsy, featuring six different kinds of delicious cookies, both available in gluten-free and regular flour varieties.

Our types of cookies include:

(clockwise): Ginger, Snickerdoodles, Chocolate Chips, Peanut Butter, Oatmeal, and Nutella.

Why do we offer the option of gluten free? Anya has Celiac disease, meaning she can’t eat gluten, which is found in wheat, rye, and barley. Since she still loves cookies (who doesn’t?) and a lot of people are beginning to find out they also have some kind of wheat allergy, we want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy some sweet cookie goodness. We went with the name “Mile End Bakery” because we met during college at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.  Stemming from our love of Montreal, we decided to name their bakery after a popular neighborhood there.

We currently sell all our cookies by the dozen, either on their own or as a sampler pack (2 of each kind). If you would like to try some out, just let us know! Check out our website and shop, follow us on Twitter and Facebook… and don’t forget to #eatmorecookies!

Happy Eating 🙂
